Helen Attends Book Launch in China

17 February 2013 No Comment

HelenIn November 2012, I had an opportunity to travel with my Dad and sister Iris to China. A university in Shanghai had published one of my grandfather’s books, translated into English. We went for the book launch. Since my Chinese reading level is about 2nd grade, I was stoked to finally read one of my grandfather’s books in English. With my grandfather and father’s books, I also realized that I’m a third-generation author!

We also visited my grandfather’s old village home in Ningbo, about three hours from Shanghai. I saw the wooden gates of the home where my grandfather grew up, as well as the canal where he took boats to the city. I was humbled by the contrast to my life as a woman in the U.S. – my life is incredible!
